SSFF: Surprise 3D in GBA Games | Punching Weight

SURPRISE! Here’s the first episode I helped write for one of my favorite YouTube channels (and inaugural “Cool Cats” inductees), Stop Skeletons From Fighting! I’ve been sitting on this secret for a hot minute now – something like the past couple of months – and I’m excited that I can finally reveal it to y’all.

Derek and Grace have always been cool as hell to me, and I’m pumped to be able to collaborate with them. SSFF’s appreciation for games that seek to overachieve – which try [and sometimes fail] to push the limits – aligns perfectly with my own. Their willingness to dive deep into all manner of obscurities and oddities has always made for fascinating viewing, and I’m psyched to be able to lend a hand to them.

Now, y’all might well be wondering what this new opportunity for me means for the website — if it’s responsible for or perhaps means further continuation of our months-long hiatus? Now, I did effectively announce said hiatus back in June on our Patreon, while admittedly failing to mention it on the website proper in any capacity. Apologies for that. But to be clear: The cause for the hiatus has nothing to do with SSFF, and everything to do with having been completely burnt out on the games industry for a period of time. If anything, having the chance to write for video [as opposed to my standard long-form] has gotten me back into a writerly mood for the first time in a long while, and has seen me thinking about finally getting back to the good ole’ essays y’all have come to expect. No timeline on when, or idea as to what, but I wanna assure you: The Bad Game Hall of Fame will ride again in time.

In the meantime: Please to look forward to future video collaborations! And uhh, if you happen to be in search of a sort of freelance games writer? Maybe shoot an e-mail this way. I’m kind of eager to see how far my obsessive attention to games research might take me.

Cassidy is the curator of a bad video game hall of fame. Whether you interpret that as "a hall of fame dedicated to bad video games" or as "a sub-par hall of fame for video games" is entirely up to you. Goes by "They / Them" pronouns.

Genuine cowpoke.

Is this a fucking joke? Why are you still here?! How the hell do you say “to hell with my stupid site” and not expect people to take you at your word?!
Why the fuck haven’t you logged the hell off? Are you really so committed to virtue-signaling on Twitter that you’ll actively make yourself (and everyone around you) sociopathic and suicidal just to “spread awareness”?!
I’m fucking baffled. I can’t even hate you enough to hold a grudge.
Everything bad that happens to you, from now on, is your own fucking fault.
Fuck you.
Fuck you, and most importantly, fuck you, you tiresome refuse.

bruh moment

I’m curious. What’s the difference between “fuck you” (no script), “fuck you” (italics on first word) and “fuck you” (italics on second word)?

I will decapitate your dog and force-feed you its severed head.
